BPI Damp-proofing Cream 1 Litre is a ready-to-use silicone emulsion damp-course injection cream for use in brick, stone and masonry walls to help control rising damp.
The cream is applied using a suitable 1 litre DPC applicator gun into a series of 12mm holes drilled into the selected mortar bed. Once injected, the cream is designed to migrate into the masonry and mortar bed, forming a water-repellent barrier within the wall to help control rising damp.
BPI Damp-proofing Cream can be applied from either the internal or external face of the wall and is suitable for professional damp proof course installation. Holes should be drilled at intervals of no more than 120mm, with the DPC positioned at least 150mm above external ground level where practicable.
BPI Damp-proofing Cream is designed to control rising damp. However, walls may remain damp after DPC installation where they are contaminated with hygroscopic salts. Salt-contaminated plaster should be removed and replaced using a suitable replastering specification. For compatible BPI system products, consider BPI Renovating Plaster or BPI Easy Mix Waterproofer & Plasticiser for Mortar & Render.
In all cases, the damp proof course should, as far as practicable, be installed in accordance with BS 6576:2005, the Code of Practice for the installation of chemical damp proof courses.
